This set of six antique fiddle-back dining chairs date from c.1910 although they are older in style. The chairs have what we believe to be mainly mahogany frames with fixed leather-upholstered seats with brass studwork around the edges. The chairs have shaped top rails and are supported on slightly tapering front legs and slightly swept back legs with double H stretchers. Some have a retailer's plaque on the underneath of the frame for John Hall & Son of Grantham, and some of the chairs are stamped with a maker's mark, which looks to read W.B.L.R. (we are not sure of the lettering).

Condition: Overall this attractive set of chairs are in usuable condition, but do have some wear consistent with age and use. There is some quite heavy scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and they are overall a little faded. One of the chairs has an area of wood loss to the front leg. The chairs are solid with only minimal movement in the joints. The leather seats are worn and scuffed. Three of the seats are split around the edges and one has a split near the back on the seat itself.
