Set of four saddle leather and tubular chrome chairs designed by Charlotte Perriand for Les Arcs.
Leather and stitching in good condition. A very clean set with a few stains and marks commensurate with age and use. Dated 1971. In her 1929 manifesto about the qualities of wood and metal she stated "The Future will favour materials that wear effortlessly, like metal". She then says "If we use metal in conjunction with leather for chairs, we get a range of wonderful combinations and new aesthetic effects".
