Set Fruit / Desert Cutlery c.1890
An absolutely sensational and highly decorative complete boxed set of twelve fruit or desert knives and forks, rarely found in such lovely condition. The knives are all fully marked with the silversmith's initials J.M.C & S.
Each knife and fork is in beautiful condition with wonderful iridescent Mother or Pearl handles, beautifully engraved silver plated blades and tines and the highly decorative ferrules the kind we (and our clients) are always in search of.
This set comes with it's original solid Mahogany presentation box and original working key. Dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890, the set remains in superb condition. The box measures 11 1/4" x 8 3/4" the knife measures 7 5/8" and the fork, 6 5/8" in length.
