This is a set of 10 antique Gainsborough chairs. An English, leather dining suite with carver and slipper chairs, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910.
Beautifully presented chairs in the distinctive Gainsborough manner
Displaying a desirable aged patina throughout
Inviting scarlet red leather in very good order with pleasing tanning
The deeply buttoned backs draw the eye and accentuate the quality
Very generously sized with wide profiles and tall backs
Graceful arms to each carver show fine grain interest
Each chair finished with bright press stud trim to the lower rails
Traditionally sprung seats at a comfortable height of 52cm to carver and 50cm to the standard
Standing upon square section front legs with gently splayed rears - united by H-stretchers
This is a striking set of 10 antique Gainsborough chairs with wonderful colour and quality leather upholstery over traditional craftsmanship. Solid joints and construction. Delivered waxed, polished and ready to enjoy.
