This is a set of 5 antique dining chairs. A Scottish, rosewood buckle back seat, dating to the William IV period, circa 1835.

Pleasingly decorative suite of dining chairs of fine quality and craftsmanship
Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout
Quality stocks present fine grain interest and rich caramel hues
Finished with maker's marks in duplicate to the frame for a J. Sinclair

Striking buckle backs, the crest rail adorned with a carved double scroll relief
Carved acanthus bar splats unite the mid point of the distinctive back rest
Each cushion dressed in a tasteful champagne gold upholstery
Cushions finished with a tasteful brocade trim in light gold

Traditionally stuffed cushions set at a comfortable height of 46cm (18'')
Superb tulip bulb carvings adorn the knees, tapering below to the circular foot
Splayed rear legs of square section form cascade from the back rest
