Here is a fine quality set of eight late Victorian mahogany dining chairs in the style of the Georgian Chippendale period, having newly upholstered seats, circa 1900.

Description:
Here is a fine quality set of eight late Victorian mahogany dining chairs in the style of the Georgian Chippendale period, having newly upholstered seats, circa 1900. The set consists of six side chairs and two armchairs. The chairs features shaped serpentine top rails and a finely executed pierced central fretwork splat. The chairs have drop in seats, which have been newly upholstered in top quality hard wearing cream wool & cotton woven upholstery. The two armchairs feature shaped arms with scroll ends. The chairs stand on elegant cabriole legs that terminate on pad feet. This is a true set of chairs (they have not been matched together) and they are extremely comfortable. The chairs are heavy in weight this is a further sign of quality.
The frames of the chairs feature a rich dark mahogany colour. As they boast the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and the years of care and cleaning they have received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the living room, dining room, study, library or office boardroom. The chairs would certainly grace any home and are a great investment as they are extremely functional. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.

This set of chairs is in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, but nothing significant considering the age of them. This is a true set of chairs (i.e. they have not been matched / married together). The seats have been newly upholstered in top quality cream wool & cotton woven upholstery. The seats are firm but extremely comfortable. The chairs are heavy in weight, which is a good sign of quality. As this set of chairs retains its original polish, it ensures there is an excellent colour and patination to the timber. This colour can only be found in antique furniture with its original polish it cannot be recreated with new polish. These chairs are very well made they are solid in joint (not loose or wobbly) and are ready to use.
