Set of Six Elm Spindle Back Chairs c. 1860

With an excellent colour and recently re-rushed seats, this beautiful set of spindle back chairs are solid elm and ash and are in very good condition throughout – sturdy and firm with no worm or replaced elements.
From a local estate and clearly always well cared for, the six chairs were made by the same hand and all of the spindles, the front and side stretchers, legs and rails are beautifully turned and joined and have developed a rich colour and warm patina.
Old dings and marks, small knocks and losses to the feet and to one of the front stretchers which has lost part of its central globe turning – all just normal wear from daily use over generations and these are very old and honourable scars with patination and smoothed by time.
A lovely and true set of 19th century spindle backs.
Dimensions are:
37.5 inches high, from floor to top of seat is 17 inches.
19.75 inches wide (max)
17.5 inches deep I describe and photograph my pieces accurately and with the aim that on arrival each will exceed expectations.
I operate a full refund guarantee and am always happy to give free, honest and friendly advice.
