Silver Dressing Table Mirror by W Comyns 1893

Sumptuous silver mounted dressing table mirror by William Comyns, London 1893. Quality easel table-mirror with mounted silver frame holding an original heart-shaped, bevelled mirror plate. The broad silver frame featuring hand-chased gadrooning and vacant cartouche to top. Shaped back and easel support covered in blue velvet with blue moiré fabric to support reverse and recess. Made by renown silversmith William Comyns of London in 1893. Fully hallmarked. The mirror measures 35 cm in height and 28 cm in width. A beautiful item in any setting.
This silver table mirror is in excellent condition commensurate with age. Exceptionally minor signs of use to the silver frame. Original undamaged mirror plate with minor age spots. Back and support have been professionally recovered in quality blue cotton-velvet fabric. WC hallmark partly hidden by fixing – shown with fixing removed in image.
