Silver Jewellery Box by William Hutton - 1895
A stunning late Victorian antique jewellery box, made from English sterling silver fully hallmarked for London 1895, a true Victorian in era. The makers initials are also there for the famous silversmith, William Hutton and Sons.
The domed lid has a plain central panel surrounding with a beautiful repousse or embossed floral and foliate border. The sides two have attractive decoration.
The hinged lid lifts to reveal a lavishly gilded interior to the lid and a deep Burgundy coloured velvet lining, perfect for keeping some precious pieces.
The box remains in excellent condition (a few tiny dings commensurate with age, mentioned purely for accuracy). The box is an good size measuring 6 1/4" x 3 1/4" x 2". A good weight, 12.22 Troy Ounces / 380.1 Grams.
