Rare Silver 0.800 Omega 24 hour Day/Night Dial Open Face Pocket Watch with Compass Swiss 1927

A Silver 0.800 Omega open face pocket watch, with 24-hour numbers and compass with original Omega tag, made in Switzerland in 1927.

DIAL: The white enamel dial has lots of different numbers for times and seconds. The dial shows the correct four compass directions as well: “Nord-Est-Sud-Ouest”. The dial is signed in the upper centre: OMEGA with the logo. The dial has golden hands and a subsidiary seconds dial at the six. The dial has a slight grey shadow on the lower half for day and night.

MOVEMENT: The anchor lever movement has 17 jewels and is decoratively signed: OMEGA and numbered: 6328724? Calibre number: 19LB. The 24 hour movement means that this movement has a different gearing then a normal 12 hour movement. The hour hand goes around the dial in 24 hour instead of 12 hours. This makes it very clear to read the time and to know the day and night.

CASE: The watch lies in a silver open face case with an engine turned finish with monogram free cartouche. The inner side of the case is stamped for silver 0.800 and signed: OMEGA and numbered: 4549208. The silver cuvette shows different medals and is decoratively signed: “OMEGA, Grand Prix, Paris 1900”.
