Silver Plate Coffee Pot, Eberle, Brazil c.1920/30s
This is a large, handsome Silver Plate Coffee Pot. The pot is of classic design with a pear shaped body on a circular pedestal foot. The scrolling handle has acanthus leaf decoration on the top and the finial is also leaf decorated. There are no initials or personalisation of any kind.
The coffee pot was made in Brazil by Eberle and dates to around the 1920s / 1930s. The firm was founded in 1896 by Abramo Eberle in Caxias do Sul in Brazil. They began electroplating in 1918 and during the 1920s/30s they produced a wide range of tableware and flatware alongside a thriving business in sword blades for military officers. During WW2 the company moved primarily into industrial manufacturing and metal fasteners. The firm remained in the Eberle family until it was purchased in 1983.
Condition is extremely good, with no significant plate loss and just one truly tiny ding in the top rim of the body plus the minimal superficial surface wear that you would expect with use and the passage of time. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The coffe pot is 24cm / 9.4ins from spout to handle, 10.7cm / 4.2ins in diameter and stands 25.2cm / 9.9ins high. It has a capacity of 1.3ltr / 2.3pts and weighs 728g / 25.68oz.
The underside of the base is stamped EBERLE and SILVER PLATED.
