This is a very attractive Silver Plated Bonbon Dish with a folding handle. The dish is made by William Suckling Ltd, a very successful firm of Birmingham silversmiths and electroplaters, who were in business from 1895 to 1965. This Bonbon Dish is part of the Regis Plate range that the firm used extensively as a brand in the 1930s.

The Bonbon Dish stands on a stepped pedestal base. The dish has pierced sides in a fleur-de-lys pattern and the scalloped rim has beaded decoration. The handle folds flat for ease of storage. It would look great filled with strawberries in the summer or colourful sweets at Christmas.

Condition is very good with no dings, dents or plate loss and only the minimal surface wear you would expect after many years of use. Please make sure to view all the photographs.

The dish is 14cm / 5.5" in diameter. It stands 5cm / 2" tall to the rim and 13cm / 5" tall to the top of the handle. It weighs 169.3g / 5.97oz.

The dish is marked on the inside of the pedestal base with REGIS PLATE, the trademark brand of William Suckling Ltd, E.P.N.S. for Electro Plated Nickel Silver and Made In England plus the product number.
