Silver Plated Tazza, Walker & Hall, 1922
A very elegant silver plated tazza with a pierced rim and a low pedestal base made by Walker & Hall. Walker & Hall are one of the great names in British silver and silver plate and one of the pioneers of the electroplating method. In 1884 they introduced a date letter system for their silver plate which ran up until 1966, which means it is possible to precisely date their silver plate items. This tazza was made in Sheffield and dates to 1922.
Condition is generally very good with just a tiny amount of scratching at the bottom of the bowl. Walker & Hall plate is of very good quality and you rarely find any significant plate loss on their pieces.
The tazza stands 6cm high and is 13cm in diameter. It weighs 112.9g.
The marks on the base are the famous W&H flag for Walker & Hall with the date letter "d" for 1922 underneath and the "Walker & Hall Sheffield" stamp.
