This fine quality antique mahogany secretaire bookcase is extra slim in proportions & has some lovely features. It has a serpentine shaped front, top & bottom. The top cornice has tear drop mouldings & the are astral-glazed doors with one shelf inside. There is a deep middle drawer which opens up to reveal a compact secretaire writing section. The bottom half has oval panels on the doors, which have lighter shading. It sits on bracket feet & comes apart into 2 sections. I would date this piece to around the 1890-1910 period & it's in good original condition, with plenty of character.
