Small 19thC Dutch Rosewood Commode Chest
This is a charming small 2 drawer Dutch commode chest that dates to the 2nd half of the 19th Century and is presented in very good original condition throughout. It has marquetry panels to the sides and top and serpentine fronted drawer fronts. All of the brass ormolu mounts, handles and escutcheons are original, as is the bead edge to the top. Both drawers retain their deep lock plates which allow for the keyhole escutcheons to be centrally positioned on the drawer fronts. Panelled back in solid oak. Drawer linings and ground wood to the chest are oak throughout.
