Small and Fine George III Mahogany Bachelors Chest


A particularly good quality George III solid mahogany bachelors chest of unusually small proportions made in c. 1790.
The original brushing slide inset with green baize over two short and three long drawers, all retaining original solid brass handles and original locks and escutcheons.
The oversailing top made from a single and substantial piece of mahogany with a lovely ogee shaped border. The whole chest having a particularly good colour - the beautifully figured mahogany with a rich natural patina. The drawers open smoothly and close properly and are very robust and usable.
The sides of solid mahogany also with no splits, original backboards and all set on original bracket feet. A very attractive and small Georgian chest from a private local estate.
Dimensions are:
35 inches wide, 19.25 inches deep and 33 inches high.
