An attractive Japanese Meiji period shodana (Japanese cabinet). Having Yosegi work marquetry throughout and lacquered panels to the doors depicting Mount Fuji and birds in flight. The lid lifts to a black lacquer and floral painted interior above the 2 doors which open to reveal 6 Yosegi worked graduated drawers again black lacquer lined. The cabinet has bronzed metal handles, hinges and escutcheons and is in very good condition. Dimensions:- Height… 15.5''/ 39.5cm. Width…14.5''/ 36cm. Depth…7''/ 18cm.
