Solid Silver Chronograph Pocket Watch Chester 1882

A Stunning Solid Silver Chronograph pocket watch often used by Doctors during this period
Full Hallmarks for Chester 1882
In excellent all over condition working fine and keeping good time having recently been serviced
The dial is white enamel with Roman numerals and a sunken centre section, the outer chapter ring is marked 0 - 300 indicating 1/5 seconds. The hands are gold with a blue steel second hand, no chips or cracks
The sterling silver case has an inner and outer rear cover and bears the Chester hallmarks for 1882 The rear is plain with a blank cartouche in the middle. The makers initials are T.H. The rear cover opens via the lug at 1 o'clock. The case is stamped with the number 32930 the same as the movement and dial number the case hinges are both 9 ct gold with no damage or repairs
The movement is a key wound English three quarter plate fusee table roller lever. The watch is wound from the rear (anticlockwise), the hands are also set from the rear. Regulation is via a lever on the balance cock. The movement is stamped with the number 32930.
There is a button, on the side of the case, at 2 o'clock which starts and stops the movement, thereby giving the watch a basic 'stop watch' function.
The start/stop button is working fine if a little stiff
The watch case is still in excellent condition with a real feel of quality
Comes with old watch key
Movement condition: very good, the gilding is nice and bright, with only one or two very minor marks. Movement with 13 jewels.
Case condition: very good, there are no bumps, the coin edge is still crisp. The front bezel snaps shut as it should do, as do both inner and outer rear covers. All three hinges are good.
Watch glass free of marks and scratches.
Takes a full wind and runs for approx 30 hours and keeps good time.
Size: 57mm (2.28 inches) in diameter and 17mm (0.67 inches) thick.
Weight: 153g (5.40oz).
