Staffordshire Pearlware Bacchus Mug c.1810


A Staffordshire pearlware pottery mug well modelled with a Bacchus mask with pointed ears and small horns. Decorated in underglaze blue. Unmarked, early 19th century.
It measures 9.5cm (3 3/4") high, 13cm (5 1/8") front to back and 7.8cm (3") wide.
Condition is fair. There are a number of small chips to the rim and a short hairline coming off one. The surface is finely crazed and evenly brown tinged. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque.
