This is an early 19th century Staffordshire Pearlware figure of Venus. It is an example of Pearlware, with its bluey grey hue and beautifully soft colours and would date to around 1820. Venus has her hand on a dolphin and Cupid is hanging on to her skirts. For its age the figure is in excellent condition, no chips or breaks, no restoration, just some rubbing to the glaze. It stands 23 cms high.
