Staffordshire Tiger Hunt jug. Circa 1860. Tiger Staffordshire blue and white %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A lovely blue and white jug depicting a tiger hunt, probably in India with the British Raj. The scene looks like the foothills of the Himalayas, presumably the hunt taking place when the British were taking a break at Simla.

A rather gruesome scene, but at least the tiger looks like he'll get the better of the dogs and the horse riders look pretty hapless going in all directions.

A typical piece of Staffordshire pottery, from one of the many companies making ceramics in the area.

A nice addition to any collection be it of pottery or colonial interest.

UK postage included in the price.
