This is a most striking original watercolour painting of a majestic lion beautifully captured by the artist who has signed the work to the bottom right corner. The painting dates from the Japanese Meiji period circa 1870 and is in its original walnut mahogany veneered frame that measures 114 cms high by 27 cms wide.
