String Box / Dispenser - Football / Soccer Ball
A most unusual late Victorian or Edwardian string box or dispenser in the form of a leather soccer ball / football, dating to c.1900.
The box is made from gilded brass and covered in leather with lovely detail and a leather laced top. This is where the little brass eyelet is found where the string is dispensed.
To the front is a concealed circular push button which is how the box is opened.
Excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age. 3 1/4" x 3 1/4".
