Stunning 19th C Inlaid Trinity House Tea Caddy

A fabulous English Trinity House tea caddy, with multiple panels inlaid with nautical scenes. These are highly sought-after pieces. Trinity House boxes were made by Lighthouse owners (often in the Portsmouth area of the UK) and sold to owners and Captains of the ships. This one was most likely made at the light house at Nore as there is a ship with the name 'Nore' written on the side of it.
This one is made from beautiful kingwood and walnut. Both the lid and front show details scenes of sailing life in the waters around the UK. The top is inlaid with a majestic clipper ship with another in the distance.
The interior is fitted with two lids that sit over the tea compartments. The internal lid is lined with the original paper lining and decoupage image of flowers and paper lace.
This is a fantastic piece.
