Stunning early 19thC Welsh Winged Box Settle


A superb early 19thC Welsh pine Box Settle of desirable winged form. Of superb colour this pretty settle has the added rarity of retaining it's wonderful original scumble finish. Displaying superb colour and patina with wonderful contrasting areas of wear.
Of desirable size and proportion with a generous box seat giving much practical storage.
A beautiful piece of sought after Welsh country antique furniture.
This piece was an original fitment of the Foundry Arms tavern in Roshill North Pembrokeshire from it's opening until it's closure in 1993 and was renowned for being ran by four generations of Landlaides from the same family. This settle flanked the left hand side of fireplace and also acted as a draft screen to the front door.
