Stunning Georgian Spode Porcelain Beaded Vase

A gorgeous Spode bone china porcelain spill vase in an unusually understated style with the majority of the pure white ground undecorated, a testament to the quality and whiteness of the porcelain that it could be left so exposed as the star of the show (not many of Spode's competitors could have achieved such a result). A convex moulded band part way up is exceptionally well painted with a running border of forget-me-nots and ruffled white roses. Beaded bands around the rim and foot of small white porcelain pearls set against a gilt background. The careful, deliberate simplicity is very beautiful and the symbolism of the flowers is clearly significant.
Marked to the underside, hidden in the well in the centre, with "SPODE" in red script. c.1815. This shape is number 44 in the factory shape book, named beaded, vase shaped jar.
It measures 15.9cm (6 1/4") high and 8.3cm (3 3/14") wide across the base.
In superb condition, no damage or repair and no discernible handling wear. Payment is accepted by bank transfer, card payments (via an online invoice, I'm afraid we cannot take payments over the telephone), Paypal and UK personal cheque. If you prefer to pay by Stripe please go to our website where we offer that option and additionally options to "Pay in 30 days" and to pay in 3 instalments, all securely supported.
Price includes UK shipping. Worldwide shipping is also available, please ask for a cost. For US customers, current tariff charges of 10% must be paid in advance of posting. Please contact us to go through the details.
