A really stylish late Victorian polished brass locking cigar box. The two hinged compartments are lined in Cedar wood, which was what was used to keep the cigars fresh before the invention of actual humidors. The interior of each compartment measures 4 1/2" x 4 3/4" and 3 1/4" deep.

Each of the compartments can be locked with the working tasseled key. The brass is beautifully decorated with embossed or repousse Poppies all the way around the sides and the lids with stylized suns and Poppies, really quite stunning.

Excellent condition with minor wear commensurate with age. The overall measurements are: 10" x 5 1/4" x 4" to top of lids and 5 1/4" to top of handle.
