A beautiful Mahogany Desk by Gillows of Lancaster. As to be expected by this maker, this desk is wonderful quality. Having 9 drawers of which are all Mahogany lined, retain the original inset Mahogany handles, locks, key and escutcheon. This desk has a well engineered internal locking system - when locking the middle top drawer the entire 9 drawers lock simultaneously. Having a leather inset top and 2 further leather pullout slides. The desk also has the unusual feature of shelved cupboards to the each side. Fabulous, timber, colour and lustre throughout. English, Circa 1850.
