Superb Huge BURMANTOFTS Vase Dating To 1882-1904!


An exceptional quality very large BURMANTOFTS FAIENCE ART POTTERY VASE produced in the Burmatofts Leeds factory between 1882 and 1904.
The wonderful Burmatofts Faience glaze starts at the base in a rich blue, merging through purple to a lovely dark red at the top. The raised heavy impasto cream and gold flower and green/brown foliage decoration is stunning.
Fully marked on the base "BURMANTOFTS FAIENCE, ENGLAND" and the numbers 1500 & 6396.
Standing an impressive 380mm tall and 235mm wide (max). Weight ~ 3.75kg.
A RARE example in wonderful condition. No chips, cracks, hairlines or restoration. Some very fine glaze crazing inside, commensurate with age.
