absolutely exquisite large oriental four fold room screen, with the most beautifully embroidered black silk panels depicting birds, insects, flowers etc. behind glass within carved hardwood frames with pierced panels to the bottom and ornate (removeable) carved and pierced fretwork panels to the top.
the reverse of the screen is embossed with leaves and berries.
in astonishingly good condition and with the colours remaining vibrant, this fabulous screen is the best we have ever seen, the skill of craftsmanship needed to create these wonderfully intricate and detailed scenes is phenomenal, we have never seen another like it.
