A fine quality rosewood and inlaid writing table by MAPLE & CO. of London. The top superstructure has a central concave lidded stationary compartment with an architectural style top. To either side are 2 banks of drawers each with original brass galleries and drawer pulls. The cross banded writing surface with 2 lines of boxwood inlay and a good quality replaced hand dyed leather which has blind and gold tooling. The front frieze of breakfront form with a central drawer and high quality subtle carved decoration. This writing table stands on inlaid square tapering legs with original brass and porcelain castors. The whole profusely inlaid with ribbons,swags,cornucopia, flowers and birds etc. Stamped Maple &Co. In superb original condition including all fittings. Mahogany lined. Fully cleaned and waxed. With key. 2 man delivery to most of U.K. £75. Sizes- Width...42''...107cm. Depth...22.5''...57cm.
