A Superb Late Victorian single fuse ships wall antique clock.c.1890. Original 6" enamel dial and brass bezel surround. 8 Day English movement with seconds aperture to the dial. Made for the Constantine Pickering Shipping Co, Middlesborough & Cardiff. Superb polished oak rope twist surround case. Fully overhauled in full working order. Measures 9.5"diameter x 5"deep.
Constantine Pickering Company formed in 1885, after buying a Norwegian ship. After 1897 based in Middlesborough. Huge fleet of ships many involved in the Great War. This antique clock probably from their original office. Sturmans Antiques is a family run business, established over 35 years ago in the beautiful market town of Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales.
