Swansea Basket Weave Moulded Slop Bowl c1817

For sale we have a truly beautiful Swansea duck egg porcelain Regency period Swansea porcelain slop bowl.
This rare gilded Swansea bowl is of a moulded basket weave form and is decorated with absolutely stunning roses. A teapot stand of the same form can be found in the Elis Jenkins collection of Swansea porcelain. The base of this bowl carries the gold Swansea mark normally reserved for a William Billingsley decorated piece.
The bowl is 3 inches (15cm) high by 6 inches (7.6cm) in diameter and is in a very good condition with little wear to the decoration. However there is a star hairline to the base.
This Swansea slop bowl is currently being exhibited as part of the selling exhibition of rare Derby, Pinxton, Nantgarw and Swansea porcelain "A journey with William Billingsley" 2016, ISBN: 9783741809903.
