Sydney Maiden Watercolour of Ramsgate 1928

An interesting unframed view of Ramsgate in Kent signed by Sydney Maiden and dated 1928. The view is of a bustling seaside town with shop lined frontage overlooking a harbour. Inscribed on the back is 'Hung on the line at the Summer Exhibition of the Royal Academy 1929'.
It is a similar view to Sydney Maiden's oil on canvas of Ramsgate which sold at auction in 2012 for a record sum of 2,332 USD for this artist. This is one of 13 watercolours from an archive of Sydney Maiden's work which, with one exception, are views from Southern and Eastern England.
Biography: Sydney Joseph Fabricius Maiden was a landscape and figurative painter in oil and watercolour. He was born in India in 1893 and served as an officer in the East Kent Regiment in both wars. He lived in London and later in Chipstead, near Sevenoaks, Kent. He exhibited in the 1930s at the Goupil Gallery, the New English Art Club and the Royal Academy. Sydney Maiden's work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realised prices depending on the size and medium of the artwork.
Dimensions: Image - 32 x 58 cm Card - 41.5 x 54 cm
Condition: The paper is stuck to board and, in addition, there is a small piece of clear tape partly over the title 'Ramsgate' in bottom left corner. There is overall discolouration as well as a dark band from where it was previously mounted and hung on a wall. It would still frame very well.
Postage & packing: It can be sent flat between two pieces of card for £7.50
