We are offering for sale this large 19th Century Oil on Canvas of a rustic landscape by the artist T. Williams, who has signed the painting to the lower left hand corner. The painting depicts a rustic landscape in a mountainous region, with an arched bridge across a river, with two cottages on the right hand side. There is a woman crossing the bridge, and a couple seated on the bank below the bridge. The man is fishing in the fast flowing water, possible coming down from the mountains.

Unfortunately, there are many artists by the name T. Williams and very few have signatures that we can compare with this signature, so are unable to verify which if any T. Williams painted this work.

The painting is framed in a 1 3/4" - 2" ornate and pierced swept gilt frame. It will be supplied wired and ready to hang.

Medium: Oils on canvas

Condition: Very good. The surface is clean and taut. There is faint overall craquelure and stretcher marks, consistent with age. The frame is in very good condition with no losses.
