Tunbridge Ware Obelisk Thermometer C.1880
19th Century Tunbridge Ware Obelisk Thermometer
Tunbridge Ware Rosewood thermometer in the form of Obelisk.
The obelisk of classical form on a plinth base inlaid with micro mosaic foliate and falling bricks detail.
The design is attributed to Henry Hollamby and was made to commemorate Cleopatra’s Needle which stands on the Victoria Embankment in London.
Timbers all complete and polish is super all around.
Bone plate behind glass tube, shows measurements in a Fahrenheit scale.

Base 2 3/8” (6.2cm) square.
