An unusual turner’s side chair, in beautifully patinated ash. A heavy and solid chair with heavy turnings.Most turner’s chairs, showcasing the craft of ‘the turner’ are of triangular form with armsand some kind of top comb, whereas this chair has a simple side chair form, possibly lending the design influence for later made and simpler ‘Dales’ chairs which were made with both wooden and rush seats. English c1760.

Restoration: Part of the ash seat has been later replaced in oak, but a long time ago.
