Unusual Antique Mahogany Cellaret Cellarette Wine cooler Plate cupboard %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
A very unusual and good quality 19th.C. mahogany sarcophagus shaped cellaret/ wine cooler/ plate cupboard. Highly influenced by the 18th,C designs of Robert Adam this cellarette has very well carved oval patrae, urn with rams heads and ribbon and harebell escutcheon surround. The caddy top lifts to reveal a void interior with a removable shelf (see photo). The front opening hinged door opens to reveal an interior which may have housed a liner at some time. This superb freestanding cabinet is supported on splayed feet with carved harebell decoration. The sides and back with applied beading and corner patrae. The carrying handles are of top quality and are cast brass.In A1 condition fully cleaned and waxed. With lock and key. Sizes- Height...30.5''...77.5cm. Width 17''...43cm. Depth...16.75''...42.5cm.
