An unusual freestanding 19th Century specimen wood desk including Chestnut, Walnut, Thuya, Partridge Wood and Satin Walnut. The rectangular shaped top having an inset hand dyed leather writing surface with blind and gold tooling and moulded edge. Both pedestals have 4 graduated drawers with applied mouldings and different specimen wood panels all retaining their original brass swan neck handles, escutcheons and working locks with keys. The centre drawer of conforming construction and all have good solid ash linings and dove tail joints. The reverse of the desk is freestanding with an unusual vanity panel, the whole raised on off-set plinth bases with hidden casters below. Dimensions:- Height…29.5’’/ 75cm. Width…48’’/ 122cm.
