Unusual gents Art Deco silver Election wrist watch

An unusual gents silver Election wrist watch.
The watch has a good quality Swiss hand-winding movement, 15 jewels, three adjustments, which is working nicely.
The watch measures 33mm wide excluding the winding crown and 41mm high excluding the fixed wire lugs. The case is 935 silver (so slightly purer than sterling silver) and there are Continental hallmarks inside the hinged case back together with the mark for the Election Watch Company.
The Election Watch Company was founded in in 1850 by Alphonse Braunschweig and in 1900 the company exhibited at the Paris Expo. By 1916, the company was listed as L Braunschweig, Fabrique d’Horlogerie Election SA and the 1920s saw published adverts promoting Election watches. In the twenties and thirties the company was known for its high-quality wristwatches . The company was taken over by Marvin in 1950.
The case has the odd little mark but overall the condition is lovely for a 1920s piece. The lens is in good condition too.
The dial has a fabulous appearance, and bags of style. This is a model of watch we have never seen before, and at the time would have been ultra modern and rather expensive.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us before placing international orders so that we can advise of shipping prices and to see if customs regulations allow us to post watches to your country.
The international buyer is responsible for paying any import duties and taxes.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a VAT registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the \'Buy Securely\' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
