A rare pair of Hoshiapur (Punjab) occasional, lamp or end antique tables. Constructed from Shisham an esteemed timber used in the North of India and unusually inlaid with silver wire. The bases can easily be folded and the tops removed for easy storage when not in use. This form of octagonal inlaid table were made in several parts of late 19th-century British India for export to Europe and were often sold through Liberty of London. Condition - Very good.
