Unusual Richard Bridgens Oak Hall Seat


An unusual antique solid oak hall or window seat in the manner of Richard Bridgens. The shaped and pierced supports having a turned stretcher with solid seat above. The back with unusual swivelling "U" shaped hand rail and decorative carved and pierced back. In excellent condition and of good golden oak colour. Dimensions:- Height...30.5’'/ 77.5cm. Width...19.5''/49.5cm. Depth...15.5’'/ 39.5cm. Delivery to most of U.K. mainland £45.
NOTE. Richard Bridgens was an apprentice to the renowned cabinet maker George Bullock. When George Bullock died in 1818, Bridgens started his own business and produced some extraordinary pieces and was considered ahead of his time for both his designs and antique furniture making.
