Unusual Victorian Thomas Forester Majolica Jug

This unusual pottery jug was made by Thomas Forester & Sons Ltd. and is marked on the base in black with the maker's initials and their phoenix mark. The jug is humourous in style, and is in the shape of a cat which is very Louis Wain in appearance. On the back of the jug is the wording: 'This is the cat that killed the rat.'
Condition: Overall in good condition with some wear consistent with age. The glaze is overall crazed and there looks to be some minor hairline cracking in places. There are some manufacturing imperfections as might be expected, and some chipping around the base, some of which was probably done at the time of manufacture.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
25cm high. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
