A Victorian giltwood and composition overmantel mirror in the manner of Robert Adam – the rectangular mirror plate flanked by pilasters encrusted with flowerheads and berried leaf pendants and capped with volutes and acanthus leaf capitals below rosette angles and draped urns, enclosing a frieze adorned with garland husks under a palm leaf and egg and dart cornice centred with a wedgewood plaque of a classical female in low relief and surmounted by drapes, an acanthus leaf spray and foliage scrolls cresting. Original gilding. The original mercury silvered mirror plate in extraordinary condition.
