Three Low Back Windsor Chairs in Ash with an Elm seat with crinolin stretchers, in excellent condition ,with a superb colour and patina, it is rare to find a chair stamped E Gabbitass all three of these chairs are stamped, these are very nice chairs with no damage or loose joints. John Gabbitass was the first chair maker to set up a workshop in Worksop in 1822 ,on his death in 1839 his wife Elizabeth carried on the business and stamped the chairs with her name she died in about 1845 , Johns brother Henry then carried on into the 1850s his nephew and son carried on into the 1880s,
