Victorian 12” Grocers Scale Plate
A Victorian ironstone scale plate, decorated with a rare under-glaze H.Sutcliffe & Co of Manchester bold black transfer. This is a very pretty example indeed.
Used in the Victorian & Edwardian period grocers and butchers scales, they make excellent cheese boards or serving platters and kitchen decoration pieces.
Diameter 12” = 31cm. Thickness 1cm
In nice original condition with small age related imperfections, tiny chips to glaze and light discolouration. Overall really nice.
