A fine and unusual Victorian Burr Walnut Davenport desk of excellent quality, featuring a beautifully figured burr walnut exterior with decorative marquetry and ebonised stringing. The sloping writing surface is inset with its original leather panel and lifts to reveal a fitted interior with small drawers and storage compartments.

The side section is fitted with four graduated drawers retaining their original turned wooden knobs, while the whole piece stands on elegant carved scroll supports with shaped platform feet. Richly figured throughout with warm colour and attractive patina, this highly decorative Davenport combines practicality with strong mid-Victorian character and would make a wonderful statement piece for a study, library or reception room.
