Victorian Carved Rosewood Upholstered Armchair
An attractive high quality antique armchair. We date this chair to the late 19th century.
The chair sits on lovely carved legs at the front and splayed legs at the rear all with original castors.
The tall backrest frame has a stunning heavily carved shaped top, sides and at the front of the armrests.
The chair is upholstered in a floral tapestry material with studded detail.
The chair is very comfortable to sit on, while the backrest provides excellent support for the back.
The chair has an overall height of 50" (127cm), an overall width of 27" (69cm), an overall depth of 27" (69cm), a backrest height of 33" (84cm), a seat height of 17" (43cm), a seat width of 19" (49cm) and a seat depth of 22" (56cm).
The chair is in very good condition with only very minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage, including a tiny part missing from the top finials from past use.
This remains a very stylish and elegant antique armchair. It is very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come.
