Victorian hand carved (ebonized?) wood pen or trinket tray, with decorative brass bands on both ends.
Registered number stamped on one of the bands reads: 191521 for the year 1892. Probably carved African wood - Boer War memorabilia.
Rare and unusual desk tidy in very good used condition. Listed items are usually available to view at the Red House Antiques Centre in York.
