The chest is stamped with the cabinetmaker’s stamp name and date on the second drawer. Constructed with a single piece top, it features the original top quality inset brass drop handles, brass corner brackets and further brass strap-work to the frame. It is quite unusual to see military chests constructed of walnut. The drawers feature working lever locks and a key. The chest features later screw-on (detachable) turned feet.
